Route de Beaumes, Aubignan, Vaucluse 84810, Provence:
The Vacluse:
The region includes some of Provence's most spectacular scenery; vineyards,
lavender fields and mountains. The Dentelles at the very end of the Alps rise
like a range of jagged teeth (although their name means lace) and provide
an impressive backdrop to the greener vineyards of Beaumes de Venise, Vacqueyras
and Gigondas in the valleys below. Mt Ventoux, known as "The Giant of
Provence", rises to a height of 1912 metres and has its own micro-climate
and flora and fauna.
Location:
Les Oliviers is situated half way between the villages of Beaumes de Venise
and Aubignan, with views of Mt Ventoux. It is close enough to either village
to walk or cycle for fresh baguettes for breakfast.
The villa is a 7 minute drive from the truffle market town of Carpentras, 25 minutes from Orange with its Gallo-Roman amphitheatre and 30 minutes from the papal city of Avignon.
